3 Days Gorilla Tracking Safari

Day 1: Kigali to Ruhengeri
You will be picked from the airport or Picked from your hotel at your convenient time and mostly after lunch or on arrival at the airport and drive northwards. The road takes you through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the awesome volcanoes, with many peaks visible on clear days. Continue to Ruhengeri for overnight at Gorilla Nest Hotel or Kinigi Guest House. (Drive takes a minimum of 3 hours)

Day 2:Rwanda Gorilla trekking
Morning you will be driven to park headquarters after briefing start off the adventure with trackers. Gorilla Tracking may take 2- 8 hours depending on the movement of these primates. Overnight will be at Gorilla Nest Hotel or Kinigi Hotel,dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Return to Kigali City
After breakfast drive to Kigali or to the airport with Lunch stop on the way.

 

5 DAYS GORILLA TREKKING-Rwanda

Day 1: Arrive at Ruhengeri
On arrival at the Kigali Airport, you will be met by our safari guide who will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park after you have had your lunch. The journey to the North goes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that display Rwanda’s landscape. Dinner and Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/La Palme Hotel/Kinigi Guest House

Day 2 AND 3: Rwanda Gorilla trekking
after breakfast you will drive to the park headquarters of Parc National des Volcans. There you will be briefed by the ranger guides; with packed lunch you will then start the gorilla trekking through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga. Hiking and tracking gorillas may take 1-8 hours. You may have an optional ibyiwacu community walk OR a relaxation at the lodge. Dinner and Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/La Palme Hotel/Kinigi Guest House

Day 4: Golden monkey tracking
After breakfast, you will have a golden monkey track. These golden monkeys are the most endangered primates in the Volcanoes. After lunch, you will have an optional community walk. Dinner and Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/La Palme Hotel/Kinigi Guest House

Day 5: Departure
Depart for Kigali and carry out a city tour including the market visits, handicraft shop visits, pottery projects, genocide museum visit and many others.  Transfer to Kigali Airport to find your departure flight.

7 DAYS GORILLA TRACKING SAFARI UGANDA /RWANDA
Day 1: Kampala- Murchison Falls National Park
After an early morning breakfast you will drive to Murchison falls National Park. You will make a stop over in Masindi town for lunch and there after proceed to the park. You will stop at the top of the falls before reaching the lodge. Dinner and overnight: Sambiya river lodge.

Day 2: full day Murchison falls
You will go for a game drive; the Wildlife in the Murchison Falls National Park includes elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Uganda kobs, oribis and waterbucks. After the drive you will return to the lodge for late breakfast, you will then have lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise which gives an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. It enables you to see crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfisher, cormorants, bee-eater and the rare shoebill stork. Dinner and overnight: Sambiya river lodge

Day 3: Murchison to queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast you will drive to Queen Elizabeth national park, you will have lunch enroute. Its about 12 hours 526 Km. Dinner and overnight at Simba safari lodge/Mweya hostel

Day 4: Game drive and Launch cruise
You will do an early morning game drive via Kasenyi track. You will return to the lodge for late breakfast and then lunch. After lunch you will go for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel. After the launch cruise you will have a game drive. Dinner and overnight at Simba safari lodge/Mweya hostel

Day5: Queen Elizabeth national park
After breakfast you will have a game drive in the Ishasha sector where you may spot tree climbing lions, and other wild animals. You will have lunch enroute. Check in at buhoma community bandas and then go for a village walk/ forest walk. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma community bandas/ Bwindi view bandas.

Day 6: gorilla tracking
After breakfast you will go for gorilla tracking.  You will depart to the park Headquarters where you will meet your ranger guides for briefing. After briefing, get ready for gorilla tracking tour in Bwindi National park. If you are lucky you can get to the gorillas in just few minutes!  Some gorilla families however are more elusive, and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is muddy and wet. After the trekking, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi overland resort

Day 7: city tour
After breakfast you will drive to Rwanda, arrive at 11am, and go for a city tour. You will visit the Kigali memorial centre (Rwanda genocide), the museum, central market, and the crafts village and have a chance to buy some souvenirs. You will also visit the Franco-Rwandan cultural.

 

8 DAYS VIRUNGA GORILLA TOUR

Day 1: Arrive at Ruhengeri

Day 2 and 3: Gorilla trekking-Rwanda

Day 5: Mount Bisoke Hike
after breakfast you will drive to Bisoke for hiking, which takes around 3 hours trek. Please note that this trek can be less or above the estimated time, depending on the fitness of the climber. After the hike, you will be transferred back to the hotel for a lunch break Dinner and Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/La Palme Hotel/Kinigi Guest House

Day 6: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
you will have breakfast and then drive to Kigali and later head to the Nyungwe Forest National Park, on the way visit the reconstructed King’s Palace at Nyanza, Butare Museums and Murambi Memoral. You will have a lunch stopover at Butare and later proceed to Nyungwe National Park. Dinner and Overnight at Gisakura Guest House

Day 7: Rwanda Chimpanzee tracking
after breakfast, you will drive to Nyungwe Forest at 6:00am to search for chimpanzee. You will also track the colobus monkeys in the forest and this is also a good time for the bird watchers to do their bird watching. Dinner and Overnight at Gisakura Guest House

Day 8: Departure
After a morning breakfast, drive back to Rwanda and be transferred to Kigali Airport to find your departure flight.
